The stories

UHY Manchester → Cooper Parry · Mobilisation → Launch → Thrive

The groundwork that held

A well-established Manchester accountancy practice going through a period of change. Good people, strong client relationships, but no clear picture of digital maturity. Systems had grown organically over years without a coordinated strategy.

We started with a full five-dimension assessment: maturity audit, digital mapping of every significant process, and a skills forecast across the team. From that evidence base, we moved into Launch: CRM deployment, knowledge management, AI tooling for document review and client communications, and workflow automation connecting client onboarding through delivery to billing.

Thrive kept the momentum going: continuous refinement, adoption support, and incremental improvements as the team grew into the new ways of working. We were part of the exit process when the practice was acquired by Cooper Parry. The digital foundations we'd built held through the transition, they weren't just functional, they were legible. The acquirer could see what the practice had built, trust the data, and build on it. Cooper Parry then became a Yopla client independently of that work.

Origin Peptides · Launch

From novel problems to working systems

A specialist peptide synthesis company doing cutting-edge science. Technical challenges landing from every direction. No single system connecting accounts, customer relationships, or project delivery. Good people solving things on the fly.

This was a hands-on Launch engagement for a company doing genuinely novel science. We built a CRM structured around what actually drives their business: the funding and investment pipeline, sales relationships, and project delivery tracking. Alongside that, we deployed accounting systems and project management tooling, connecting the pieces into one coherent infrastructure.

The relationship has been ongoing because that's how frontier businesses work, new challenges land constantly. Origin Peptides don't come to us with a specification. They come with a problem. And we work alongside them to solve it, each time extending what the infrastructure can handle.

“Yopla has consistently helped us with all sorts of technical challenges across various scenarios. We always turn to them when we're facing something novel and demanding.”

QLM Technology · Mobilisation → Alignment

Securing the foundations for frontier science

A quantum research company pushing boundaries in deep tech, but without the infrastructure governance to match. Technology choices were being made fast, cyber risk was not well understood, and there was no structured view of how their tools and data practices held up against industry standards.

We ran a technology and cyber audit designed for a business doing genuinely frontier work in quantum sensing. This wasn't a compliance checklist. It was a structured assessment of how tools, data practices, access controls, and security posture connected to the company's growth trajectory.

The Alignment engagement reviewed architecture, data handling, and compliance posture against industry standards. The output was a clear, prioritised set of recommendations: what to strengthen now, what was already solid, and what to plan for as the business scales. The team came away with a structured understanding of their position. Not anxiety about gaps, but confidence about foundations.

Ulster Wildlife · Mobilisation → Thrive

Stepping into the 21st century

A charity delivering conservation programmes across Northern Ireland. No expertise or capacity to know where to begin with digital transformation. Manual, outdated processes consuming staff time. Multiple teams working at different paces.

We spent time with every part of the organisation: conservation, fundraising, operations, volunteer coordination, leadership. Understanding how work really happened day to day. Digital skills assessments gave us a picture of confidence and readiness. Process mapping covered grant reporting, donor management, event administration, and all the coordination that sits behind conservation delivery.

What emerged was an organisation full of committed, capable people who deserved better infrastructure. Mobilisation gave leadership the evidence to set direction. Thrive is now underway and expanding across the organisation: CRM, AI tooling, fractional CTO support, project management, a penny-perfect payroll migration, HR systems, accounting, and membership management. The focus is always on freeing capacity for the mission, not technology for its own sake.

“The approach was very transparent in terms of how Yopla do things and what your process would be. What stood out was the time taken to understand our organisation, rather than just applying a standard approach to every case.”

Fusion 21 · Mobilisation

Mapping what's invisible

A national social enterprise managing procurement frameworks worth hundreds of millions. Complex stakeholder landscape. High accountability. The leadership team knew digital transformation was necessary but needed an evidence base to act.

A full Mobilisation assessment for a national social enterprise managing procurement frameworks at significant scale. Structured interviews across leadership and operations. Maturity audit across all five dimensions. Digital mapping of the workflows, dependencies, and stakeholder relationships that held the organisation together. Skills forecasting across the team.

The value here was in making complexity legible. An organisation with deep stakeholder networks and high accountability requirements had knowledge distributed across people and processes in ways that no single view had ever captured. The assessment surfaced those structures, quantified maturity, and delivered a transformation strategy grounded in what the organisation actually looked like, not what anyone assumed it should look like.

Metron Group · Mobilisation → Thrive

From heroics to harmony

A multi-site engineering services group scaling fast. Technically strong people, but no shared operating system. CRM existed but nobody trusted it. Reporting was manual. Decisions relied on whoever happened to be in the room.

We assessed maturity across all five dimensions (strategy, people, processes, technology, and customer), interviewing leaders and site teams across the group. We ran digital skills assessments with every team member, and mapped the workflows that connected sales, delivery, finance, and operations across multiple locations.

That evidence base shaped everything that followed. In Thrive, we built a CRM that reflected how the business actually works: pipeline stages, automation, and reporting designed around real operations, not generic templates. We connected financial and operational data into a single reporting layer so the leadership team could see performance in one place. Adoption coaching ran alongside every deployment. This work is still ongoing, we continue to refine, expand, and improve as the business grows.

“Before Yopla, we were relying on hardworking, clever people to hold everything together, but it felt like heroics just to keep things running. Now, we're all working toward the same goals in the same way, and our customers can actually see the difference.”

Aberdeen Foyer · Mobilisation → Thrive

Radical thinking, clear direction

A housing association serving vulnerable tenants. The team was duplicating data across disconnected systems, fixing mistakes by hand, and losing hours to tasks that should have been automatic. Good intentions, poor infrastructure.

We mapped every workflow and handover point: tenant onboarding, support case management, housing allocations, compliance reporting. We interviewed staff across the organisation and ran our digital skills assessment to understand where confidence sat, and where it could grow.

The Mobilisation report gave leadership a clear, evidence-based view of where the highest-impact improvements lay. In Thrive, we started joining it all up: CRM, phone system, accounting, payroll, website and apps, building the connected infrastructure that lets the team focus on what they're here to do. What stood out most was the shift in how people felt about technology: from something imposed to something that genuinely helped them spend more time supporting tenants.

“What's really stayed with me is the sense of possibility. The process has made us think quite radically about what we do and how we might use technology differently.”

Ashville Asset Management · Mobilisation

Understanding the reality

A property management business that had grown by bolting software together. Each tool solved one problem but created two more. The result was what they called a Frankenstein system. Everything was harder than it should have been.

We mapped the full operating landscape, property management, CRM, finance, maintenance, reporting, and talked to people at every level about how they got their work done. Digital skills assessments gave us a picture of confidence and capability across the team.

The assessment delivered a detailed understanding of their digital reality: where systems connected, where they didn't, and what the gap looked like between ambition and current state. Maturity scores across all five dimensions gave leadership a clear, evidence-based picture of where they stood and what the highest-value changes would be. This wasn't about fixing things, it was about understanding things properly for the first time.

“We used to bolt bits of software together into what can only be described as a Frankenstein system. Yopla showed us how to rethink everything, and now our tools actually make things easier instead of harder.”

Techolony · Alignment

Clarity before commitment

A growing technology company with ambitious plans but no clear picture of where their systems stood. Decisions made on gut feel. The team knew they were outgrowing their setup but could not articulate what needed to change.

This was a focused engagement: structured interviews with leadership and technical staff, a capability assessment across systems and processes, and deep process mapping to understand where the business was heading and what the infrastructure needed to support that.

We didn't deploy anything. The value was in the clarity. We delivered a prioritised transformation roadmap, sequenced, costed, and grounded in evidence. The leadership team walked away aligned on the same priorities, with a plan they could brief to their board, take to market, or hand to a delivery partner. No ambiguity about what to do first, or why.

In their words

From the people who make it real.

Words from inside the engagements. Unedited. Plain English.

“Before Yopla, we were relying on hardworking, clever people to hold everything together, but it felt like heroics just to keep things running.”

“Now, we're all working toward the same goals in the same way, and our customers can actually see the difference.”

“We used to bolt bits of software together into what can only be described as a Frankenstein system.”

“Yopla showed us how to rethink everything, and now our tools actually make things easier instead of harder.”

“I'd use words like innovation and inspiration to describe Yopla. You've sparked so much.”

“These aren't necessarily brand-new conversations, they're things we'd thought about or vaguely discussed, but we had no direction.”
